One of Pub Solution’s managed pubs has received The community pub of the year award.

Kingswood MP Chris Skidmore has selected  The Lamb pub at Cadbury Heath, South Gloucestershire, as the constituency’s Community Pub of the Year.

Since first being elected in 2010 the MP has been a strong supporter of the role of the local pub in the community and through “The Week In” has run an annual competition to find the COMMUNITY  PUB OF THE YEAR.

Praise from Local MP

Explaining why he felt The Lamb deserved The award, Mr Skidmore MP said this week

“The Lamb is one of those rare examples of a pub that is at the heart of it’s local community:  not only is it extremely popular, it fundraises for the local community by constantly holding charity events.  This month it is raising funds for new park benches on the green outside.  In particular, I was struck by the fact that the pub has raised over £1000 to purchase a defibrillator for community use.

“Of course, the fate of The Lamb wasn’t always this rosy – six years ago this month we gathered a petition of over 1000 residents calling for The Lamb to be saved from demolition.  Eventually we won the campaign and I’m so glad that The Lamb has gone on from strength to strength to prove our argument then, that this really was a vital community resource for Cadbury Heath”.

Pub Solutions (South West) Ltd have been Tenants at The Lamb for a great many years now.  We first managed the pub for Punch Taverns and following it’s sale we carried on running the pub for a private property developer.  The Lamb has gone from strength to strength with the takings now treble what they were when we first had the pub.

We’d like to thank our manager, Mr Dave Smith, for all his hard work to make The Lamb the heart of the community in Cadbury Heath,  Dave has been with Pub Solutions for over eight years now.  We hold him in high esteem and  appreciate what a grand job he has done in the pubs he has managed for us.
